C² Technologies, Inc. (C²), an industry leader in training development with a commitment to education both in America and abroad, was a bronze sponsor at the annual gala and fundraiser for Pratham USA’s Washington, DC chapter, held on November 3 at Diya in Tysons Corner, VA.

C² General Counsel Sheena Gill, who serves on the board of Pratham DC, provided the opening remarks. Similar events are held in each of Pratham USA’s 15 chapters each year to celebrate accomplishments, and to energize their membership.

The organization works to improve the quality of education in India through innovations in teaching and learning techniques, measuring and increasing learning levels throughout the country, and by working directly with children in need of educational support in larger cities. Since Pratham’s beginnings in the slums of Mumbai in 1994, it has become the largest non-governmental organization working to provide quality education to rural and urban children throughout India.

Today, Pratham’s programs—including pre-schools, community libraries and remedial learning programs—reach millions of children every year. In fact, in 2011 two million children in India improved their learning levels as a direct result of Pratham’s efforts. Founded on the belief that education is a fundamental right of every child regardless of access to school facilities or academic resources, Pratham’s mission is to ensure “Every Child is in School and Learning Well.”
