C² Technologies Wins Four Human Capital and Innovation Awards from the Training Officers Consortium (TOC)

(Vienna, VA — May 25, 2012) C² Technologies, Inc. (C²), an industry leader in enterprise-wide human capital and learning solutions, capped off a very successful year by receiving three awards from the Training Officers Consortium (TOC) for specific projects—one Human Capital and two Innovation Awards—and the overall TOC Award for Innovative Uses of Information Technology in Government.

Receiving Innovation Awards were the Virtual Orientation Center (VOC), developed for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s (NRC’s) Professional Development and Policy Branch, and the Patriot Missile iPhone Application, produced for the U.S. Army’s 3-6 Air Defense Artillery (ADA) unit. The VOC represents a groundbreaking initiative that streamlines the process of onboarding new employees by providing them with access to just-in-time information about the organization, culture, and other aspects of NRC in a realistic online environment while they are awaiting the required security clearance. The VOC enabled NRC to save time, enhance retention, reduce training expenses, and—as mentioned—provide just-in-time information on the job.

The Patriot Missile App complements rigorous academic training with a convenient, mobile, challenging exercise that can be accessed anytime and anywhere. Equivalent PC-based software allows instructors to demonstrate tactics during classroom lectures, with students being able to follow along on their phones prior to practicing on their own in an engaging 3D environment. Among the app’s key features are its versatility and flexibility, which allow it to be adapted, updated, and deployed to deliver just-in-time training to warfighters wherever they are.

The U.S. Air Force’s (USAF’s) Air Command and Staff College (ACSC) Online Master’s Degree Program was honored with a Human Capital Management Award. The ACSC’s Master’s Degree Program is offered worldwide, harnessing the power of distance learning to educate USAF personnel globally. Delivered online to USAF staff via Blackboard, the Online Master’s Degree Program presents dynamic content synchronously and asynchronously, offering assessments, collaboration, and capstones through an innovative learning management system. The net result of this approach is a learning experience that’s adaptable to a changing battlefield, with substantial cost savings.

C² CEO Dolly Oberoi reflected on her company’s most recent accomplishment while praising the reputation of the TOC Award program. “It is a matter of pride to win three of TOC’s prestigious 2012 awards and the overall award for innovative uses of information. These are highly coveted and competitive awards,” she said.

The 57th Annual Distinguished Service Awards Ceremony will be held on June 12 in Washington, DC.

TOC is a nonprofit organization, founded in 1938 here in Washington to serve as a forum for “Federal trainers and other professionals from industry and academe who are interested in contributing to the knowledge and practice of human resources and training.” Members are invited to network, discuss best practices, and share insights on key issues affecting their fields. In addition to its awards program, TOC sponsors regular professional development series, a monthly newsletter, a scholarship fund, and an annual institute.
