C² Wins Again; Earning Platinum and Gold AVA Digital Awards

(Vienna, VA — February 11, 2013)

C² Technologies, Inc. (C²), an industry leader in providing state-of-the-art training solutions, added to its trophy case this week with two AVA Digital Awards. C² took home the Platinum Award in the Creativity (Web Design)/Mobile App category for the Patriot Missile Radar Set, and the Gold Award in the Creativity/Web Interactive Capabilities category for the Criminal Law Advocacy Course.

C² developed the winning project for the U.S. Army’s 3-6 ADA unit based at Fort Sill, OK. The Patriot Missile App addresses the challenge of ingraining critical battlefield skills needed by American warriors to complete their missions and objectives successfully, free of the limitations associated with having to access reference materials where little or no data connectivity is available. The app complements rigorous academic training with a convenient, mobile, challenging exercise that can be used anytime and anywhere.

Equivalent PC-based software allows instructors to demonstrate tactics during classroom lectures, with students being able to follow along on their phones before practicing on their own in an engaging 3D environment. Among the app’s key features are its versatility and flexibility, which allow it to be adapted, updated, and deployed to deliver just-in-time training to warfighters wherever they are.

The AVA Digital Awards join a long line of recognitions for the Patriot Missile project—a line that includes The Chief Learning Officer Award and Training Officers Consortium Innovation Award.

C2 developed the 3D immersive Criminal Law Advocacy Course (CLAC) for The Judge Advocate General’s Law Center and School (TJAGLCS) in Charlottesville, VA. This distance learning course is a prerequisite to resident training and is targeted for U.S. Army Reserve and National Guard Soldiers. These soldiers are bar-certified attorneys, but lack knowledge of the military judicial system and military rules of evidence. CLAC provides military law familiarization, process, and procedural information to these soldiers by allowing them to explore virtual crime scenes, collect relevant information, coordinate with other avatars in the legal process to file pertinent evidence and motions, and practice courtroom fundamentals for making objections and arguments in court.

The modular design allows for stand-alone usage, integration into other distance learning courses, or use with instructor-led training. CLAC features include the mini-map that allows the user to navigate quickly to an area within the simulation, a dockable Graphic User interface that allows maximum screen usage, and notices that guide the user through activities.

The AVA Digital Awards are an international competition that recognizes outstanding work by creative professionals involved in the concept, direction, design, and production of media that are part of the evolution of digital communication. Work ranges from audio and video production; to developing websites that present interactive components such as video, animation, blogs, and podcasts; to interactive social media sites; to other forms of user-generated communication.

AVA Awards are administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP). The Association administers recognition programs, provides judges, and rewards outstanding achievement and service to the profession.
