C² Technologies, Inc. (C²), an industry leader in the development of innovative staff recruitment and training solutions, has claimed two more awards for its work, receiving both Gold and Silver in the 2012 W³ Awards.

Achieving the Gold distinction was the National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA’s) Virtual Orientation Center (VOC), developed and customized by C² to provide new hires at the NNSA with access to preliminary employee training even before they receive security clearance to enter their real-world work facilities. By allowing trainees to begin learning about organizational history and culture in a highly interactive and informative 3D virtual environment, the VOC fast-tracks their integration into the NNSA workforce; it also saves taxpayer dollars by minimizing the need for re-application and re-hiring—formerly a frequent occurrence when new staff lost interest while waiting idly during the extensive background examination process. With the new VOC, users are encouraged to navigate a computer-generated facility full of information about the NNSA and their role in it, and to engage avatars who welcome them with additional insight and guidance.

The Silver awards goes to the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Jobs One Portal (http://jobs.energy.gov/) which is helping to revolutionize the way the Department recruits the best talent. Featuring an appealing main interface and Web 2.0 social media technologies, the site is scalable, and thus will not require complete redesigns to accommodate general expansion or the later incorporation of additional interactive media. Its integration with USA Jobs and other relevant recruiting sites makes it a one-stop shop for interns, college graduates, Veterans, and others seeking employment opportunities with the DOE.

The W³ Awards honor creative excellence on the web, and recognize the creative and marketing professionals behind award-winning sites, videos, and marketing programs. The program is sanctioned and judged by the International Academy of the Visual Arts, an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from media, interactive, advertising, and marketing firms.
