Project Purpose:
To establish organization-wide record management procedures to ensure accurate documentation of medical records at the Veterans Health Administration (VHA)
The Results:
- Provided two Medical Scribes at 12 Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) pilot sites across the US, who provided direct patient interaction.
- Provided 24 additional Medical scribes who accurately recorded and documented the details of physician visits in the Veterans Health Information and Technology Architecture (VistA) and Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS).
- Established record management procedures that lead to accurate record-keeping and overall process improvement.
