Project Purpose:
To develop a Computer-Based Assessment Simulation System (CBSS) that offers a real-life robust 3D experience
The Results:
- Developed a CBSS for the certification of qualification for Refrigeration System Operating Engineers (RSOE).
- Established a new web application that includes administrative and authoring tools allowing New York City Fire Department (FDNY) personnel to create and update exams and access examinees’ answers—and the steps taken to arrive at the answer—in the database at any time.
- The CBSS is integrated within the existing FDNY’s IT network and allows for the transfer of data to other FDNY systems. The application makes use of the Unity software platform providing for a real-life robust 3D experience for examinees.
